Alex Pekler has served as an accounting manager for KOS since 2009. He spends his time assisting closely held businesses and corporations as well as individuals and families with all their accounting, auditing, review and business consulting needs. Alex is experienced with bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax returns, internal controls, financial statement preparation and financial reporting.
Alex routinely works in business industries such as career colleges and education, construction, healthcare, not-for-profit, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and professional service firms. For career colleges and educational facilities, Alex performs compliance attestation engagements of student financial assistance programs and audits of the school’s financial statements.
He started his accounting career with a mid-sized Chicago accounting firm for a year and a half before he was hired at KOS in 2000. Alex serves on the KOS accounting and audit committee.

What has been your career highlight?
I have been working at KOS for ten years. During that time, I have had the opportunity to greatly expand my knowledge and skills in accounting and audit. This allows be to provide above and beyond client service to our clients. I’ve been given the tools to be successful. Now, as a Manager at KOS, I get to work with the staff accountants to mentor them. I also enjoy continuing to learn from my colleagues.
What was your first job?
I delivered vending machine products to nursing homes in the Chicagoland area.
What lesson from mom or dad do you still live by today?
My parents taught me to never give up and to treat others the same way you want to be treated.
What are your favorite bands?
The Beatles
When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with my family, participating in my children’s various activities, hanging out with friends, going to the movies and restaurants, traveling and downhill skiing.
