Ansel has over 50 years of experience with all aspects of federal and state tax issues, including compliance and tax planning, as well as research for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. In addition, he provides accounting services such as preparing financial statements and projections and forecasts for real estate projects. Ansel works with businesses and corporations as well as individuals and families providing both accounting and tax services.
In the area of real estate, Ansel has extensive experience relating to real estate accounting, tax compliance services including Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges, depreciation, business and property transaction analysis and tax structuring. He can help minimize tax liabilities, uncover benefits of various types of property ownership and structuring and consult with property owners to maximize overall return. In the past, Ansel has worked on many real property engagements, including multi-tenant commercial properties, single use triple net industrial buildings, and multi-family residential properties.
Ansel’s first accounting position was with a large, national firm from 1961 until 1975. Then, he was a partner at two different Chicago-area CPA firms from 1975 until 1987. In 1987, Ansel started his own CPA firm where he served as a tax partner and provided audit services as well. Ansel joined KOS in 2010.

The opportunity to own my own firm for twenty-two years has been my greatest achievement.

I’m naturally curious and adventurous. I’m always eager to step out on a limb and learn new things.

Selling ice cream from a bicycle cart

Be honest in all your dealings.
What are your favorite bands?
Rubber bands. Or silly bands.
When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
Horseback riding, reading and traveling
When you were a child, what did you want to do for a living?
I wanted to be a doctor like my father.
